However, in December 2015, the Indominus escaped from its enclosure and began rampaging across the island, leading to a series of events that required the evacuation of Jurassic World and the abandonment of the island itself to the park's escaped dinosaurs. As a result, InGen decided to create a dinosaur hybrid dubbed the Indominus rex in an effort to boost public interest. The new park, Jurassic World, was successful, attracting thousands of visitors each day, but by 2015, profits began to decline. In 1997, Masrani Global acquired InGen and began preparations for the construction of "Jurassic Park's second incarnation" on Isla Nublar. A year after the incident, clean-up teams were sent to the island to bring it under control. In the aftermath, the events on Isla Nublar were successfully covered up by InGen. Nedry's plan was later set into motion, and by disabling the electrified fencing, many of the island's dinosaurs broke free from their enclosures, resulting in numerous deaths and the abandonment of the island to the dinosaurs. Prior to the opening of the park, in an act of corporate espionage, a rival genetics company sought out disaffected park worker Denis Nedry to upload a virus into Jurassic Park's security system and steal the dinosaur embryos stored on the island. Under the leadership of billionaire John Hammond, InGen began development of Jurassic Park, where resurrected dinosaurs would be displayed to the public. The many mountain ridges create a variety of ecological niches. The island is remote, being 120 miles off the west coast of Costa Rica. Having an (upgraded!) If a storm looks to be a big one or if you just don't want to deal with the raptors, rexes and frankendinos, you can always tranquilize them preemptively. T-Rex isn't too unreasonable in my experience, despite having the same 90% comfort threshold as the raptors-possibly because there's only one to an exhibit instead of 2+. Velociraptors are legendary for breaking out during storms and, for whatever reason, normal conditions. Pachycephalosaurs have a relatively high social floor and a low population ceiling.Ĭarnivores are typically more sensitive across the board, which means that a storm of any significant duration will cause a lot of escapes.
Likely problem areas are population and social needs, particularly on Hadrosaurs (high social floor) and Stegosaurs/Ankylosaurs (low social and population ceiling). Many herbivores can put up with a lot before hitting the red zone and becoming likely to attack the fence, so if your herbivores are escaping, you're doing something wrong. If you've made sure you hit all the benchmarks, many dinosaurs just plain stay put, even during storms. Thing is, the dinosaurs' comfort is what matters, not the fence you use if they're unhappy, they WILL break out. The fences have varying strengths based on the material (unless I've been had), and electrified fences take one more hit than the regular version before becoming damaged (or something like that).
